We respect and celebrate each individual’s unique qualities, perspectives, and experiences—encompassing age, color, disability, ethnicity, family or marital status, gender identity or expression, language, national origin, physical and mental ability, political affiliation, race, religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, veteran status, and more. Your Role: The Heartbeat of Your Community

As a Macaroni KID Local Publisher, you will be the curator of fun for families in your exclusive territory. You are not just posting links; you are building a trusted resource, a small business, and a community hub. Your core mission is to discover, verify, and share the best local experiences for children and their parents.

Key Responsibilities: What You’ll Be Doing

1. Be the Ultimate Family Event Curator:

  • Publish a weekly, must-read e-newsletter and an interactive online events calendar. This is your flagship product, delivered directly to the inboxes of subscribed families in your area.
  • Maintain a rigorous schedule of publishing this newsletter a minimum of 45 weeks per year, ensuring your community never misses out on the weekend’s best activities, from library storytimes to major festival highlights.
  • Scour community boards, school districts, local business social media, and town halls to find every possible family-friendly happening.

2. Create Engaging, Original Content:

  • Write and publish a minimum of 2-4 original articles per month that go beyond the event calendar.
  • Content ideas include: “Parent’s Guide to Your Local Spray Parks,” “Interview with a Beloved Children’s Librarian,” “Roundup of Best Birthday Party Venues for Toddlers,” or “Review of the New Interactive Exhibit at the Children’s Museum.”
  • Showcase your unique voice and deep local knowledge to build rapport and trust with your readers.

3. Build and Nurture a Digital Community:

  • Actively manage and grow social media channels (primarily Facebook and Instagram) for your local Macaroni KID edition.
  • Use social platforms not just to broadcast, but to connect—answer questions, run polls, share reader photos, and create a two-way conversation with your audience.
  • Implement a consistent social media strategy to increase reach and engagement.

4. Develop a Sustainable Business (You Keep 100% of Ad Revenue!):

  • Proactively market your Macaroni KID platform to local businesses that serve families: pediatric dentists, indoor play gyms, kids’ boutiques, dance studios, local restaurants, and more.
  • Craft compelling advertising partnership proposals that demonstrate your value and reach.
  • Manage your own advertising sales, client relationships, and revenue. This is a commission-based role where you retain 100% of the advertising income you generate. Your earning potential is directly tied to your initiative and sales efforts.

5. Collaborate with a National Network:

  • Partner with Macaroni KID HQ on exciting national campaigns. You might get to review and write about new toys from brands like Disney, Mattel, or American Girl and share those perks with your own family.
  • Participate in network-wide initiatives and share successful ideas with fellow Publishers across the country.
  • Support national advertisers by publishing sponsored content, for which you receive direct compensation.

6. Commit to Continuous Learning:

  • Successfully complete our comprehensive New Publisher Training Webinar and curriculum within your first three months.
  • Participate in ongoing specialized training sessions throughout the year on topics like SEO, social media algorithms, sales techniques, and content creation.

Essential Qualifications:

✔ Exceptional Writing and Communication Skills:

  • You can craft clear, friendly, engaging, and error-free copy that resonates with busy parents.

✔ Deep Local Knowledge & Engagement:

  • You don’t just live in your community; you are actively involved in its family ecosystem.
  • You’re likely already a member of local parenting Facebook groups, follow other kid-focused community pages, and know which parks have the best toddler swings.
  • Bonus Points: If you are already a local blogger, social media influencer, or community group moderator focused on family topics, we are especially eager to hear from you!

✔ Basic Digital Media Proficiency:

  • You are comfortable taking decent photos and short videos on your smartphone.
