We are now seeking a meticulous, tech-savvy, and independent professional to join our Document Services team as a Document Specialist. This is a unique opportunity to build a rewarding career from the comfort of your home, working with cutting-edge tools and supporting high-stakes projects for prestigious clients.

Your Mission: The Document Specialist Role

As a Document Specialist at Epiq, you will be the unseen architect of clarity and precision. Your core mission is to ensure that every document—from a multi-hundred-page legal filing to a complex financial spreadsheet—is flawlessly formatted, accurately revised, and perfectly prepared for its critical purpose. You will provide an invaluable service, helping our clients streamline the administration of their business operations by taking ownership of their document lifecycle needs.

This is a role where your keen eye for detail and your proficiency with technology directly contribute to case outcomes, transaction closures, and corporate milestones. You will be trusted to handle sensitive materials with the utmost discretion while meeting tight deadlines in a dynamic, behind-the-scenes environment.

Essential Job Responsibilities: The Core of Your Impact

Your day-to-day work will be varied and intellectually engaging. Key responsibilities include:

  • Document Creation & Mastery: Expertly create, revise, reformat, and convert documents using a suite of software including the full Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), advanced PDF editing tools (Adobe Acrobat, Kofax), and transcription software.
  • Complex Document Preparation: Prepare and edit complex legal and business documents, sophisticated spreadsheets with integrated formulas and macros, and presentation-ready charts and graphs. You don’t just type; you engineer documents for professional impact.
  • Project Support: Provide crucial coordination and administrative support for special client and internal projects. This may involve managing document sets for large-scale litigation, mergers and acquisitions, or regulatory filings.
  • Guardianship of Confidentiality: Efficiently and securely handle time-sensitive and confidential materials, adhering strictly to client and Epiq security protocols. Your integrity is paramount.
  • Diagnostic Problem-Solving: Perform document diagnostic activities to troubleshoot formatting inconsistencies, corruption issues, or compatibility problems, ensuring final deliverables are pristine and functional.
  • Autonomous Workflow Management: Successfully manage a personal queue of requests from intake to delivery, prioritizing tasks to meet all deadlines without constant supervisory direction.

Who We Are Looking For: Qualifications & Requirements

Required Foundations:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A minimum of 1 year of professional experience in a document-intensive role. Experience in document outsourcing, legal support, corporate administration, or a similar field is highly preferred.
  • A demonstrable, working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • An innate ability to multi-task without sacrificing the minute details that make a document perfect.
  • A self-starter’s mindset. We need individuals who possess strong initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision, especially in a remote setting.
  • A proactive learning attitude. You must be able to master the responsibilities above through a blended approach of in-person training (for Phoenix hybrid), remote training sessions, and self-guided learning initiatives.

Skills That Will Make You Stand Out:

  • Direct experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro or Kofax Power PDF for advanced PDF manipulation (redaction, Bates numbering, portfolio assembly, form creation).
  • Familiarity with document comparison software (e.g., Workshare Compare, DocuProof).
  • Prior exposure to legal terminology or litigation support processes.
  • Proven experience working successfully in a fully remote or hybrid work environment.
