As a Language Quality Specialist, you will be the final arbiter of linguistic quality. Your expertise will directly influence the training and refinement of AI models. Your core responsibilities will include:
- In-Depth Evaluation & Analysis: Meticulously review AI-generated Arabic translations across a variety of content types (which may include conversational dialogues, technical instructions, marketing copy, or creative writing). Your focus will be on fluency, clarity, stylistic appropriateness, and cultural accuracy.
- Error Identification & Diagnosis: Act as a linguistic detective. You will identify not just obvious mistranslations, but subtle issues such as:
- Tone Inconsistencies: Where the formality level shifts awkwardly within a text.
- Unnatural Phrasing: Sentences that are technically correct but feel “off” or “translated” to a native speaker.
- Cultural Missteps: Content that uses metaphors, references, or humor that does not land appropriately in the target culture.
- Contextual Blind Spots: Translations that miss the implied meaning or fail to adapt to the specific context.

Must-Have Requirements:

- Compensation: You will be paid a competitive hourly rate of between $20 and $25 USD, commensurate with your experience and the quality of your work. Payment is processed weekly and reliably via Stripe Connect.
- Status: This is an Independent Contractor position. You will not be an employee of Mercor. This offers you significant flexibility to manage your own schedule and work from anywhere in the world.
- Schedule: We require a commitment of a minimum of 10 hours per week. You will have considerable autonomy to complete these hours according to your schedule within agreed-upon deadlines.
- Tools & Environment: You will need a reliable computer, high-speed internet connection, and a professional, quiet workspace to conduct detailed linguistic analysis.
