A Message from Allara
At Allara, we are on a mission to solve a fundamental injustice: the systemic neglect of women’s health. For too long, conditions like PCOS, perimenopause, and hormonal imbalances have been misunderstood and underserved. We are changing that. We are a comprehensive women’s health provider trusted by over 40,000 women nationwide, offering expert, longitudinal care that supports women through every life stage.
When you join Allara, you aren’t just taking a job; you are becoming part of a movement. You are a vital link in a chain of compassion and expertise, dedicated to ensuring that every woman feels heard, supported, and empowered on her healthcare journey. If you are looking for a role where your work has profound meaning and your empathy makes a tangible difference, we invite you to read on.
The Opportunity: Be the Guiding Voice in Women’s Health
We are seeking a Patient Concierge Agent to become the heart and voice of our patient support system. This is not a typical call center role. You will be an essential guide and advocate for women navigating often complex and deeply personal health challenges.
As the first point of contact for many, you will set the tone for the entire Allara experience. You will be the calm, knowledgeable, and compassionate voice that patients remember—the person who made them feel seen, understood, and cared for. You will work remotely as a key member of our care team, bridging the gap between patients and providers to ensure seamless, high-touch support.
Your Mission: Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will wear many hats, all centered around providing an unparalleled patient experience. Your core duties will include:
- Providing Empathetic, Multi-Channel Support: You will be the primary point of contact for patients, offering timely and thoughtful support through phone, email, and in-app messaging. Your ability to communicate with warmth and professionalism is paramount.
- Acting as a Crucial Liaison: You will serve as the vital communication link between patients and our multidisciplinary care teams. This involves relaying critical clinical information, test results, and provider messages with impeccable accuracy and discretion.
- Guiding the Patient Journey: You will expertly guide patients through scheduling telehealth appointments, answer questions about our wide range of services, and help them navigate our platform with ease.
- Facilitating Clear Billing Communication: You will act as a bridge between our finance team and patients, communicating billing-related updates with clarity, transparency, and empathy to ensure patients feel supported in all aspects of their care.
- Personalizing the Patient Experience: Every patient’s story is unique. You will provide personalized assistance, remembering the nuances of individual cases and helping each woman feel that her journey is our top priority.
- Driving Continuous Improvement: You will be the eyes and ears of the patient experience, identifying common pain points, trends, and opportunities to share insights with the broader team to help us continuously improve our service.
Who We Are Looking For: The Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for more than just a resume; we are looking for a heart-centered professional who thrives in a supportive, mission-driven environment.
You are:
- An Empathetic Communicator: You possess a natural ability to build rapport and navigate sensitive, complex conversations with grace and compassion.
- A Meticulous Organizer: Your attention to detail is exceptional. You understand that in healthcare, accuracy is non-negotiable.
- A Creative Problem-Solver: When faced with a challenge, you think on your feet and find solutions that prioritize both patient care and operational efficiency.
- A Reliable and Independent Professional: You are self-motivated and thrive in a remote setting, managing your time effectively and maintaining a high level of productivity without direct supervision.
- A Lifelong Learner: You are curious and eager to learn about the evolving landscape of women’s health to better serve our patients.
The Non-Negotiable: Required & Preferred Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria:
| Category | Specific Requirements |
|---|---|
| Experience | – Minimum 1.5 years of experience in customer support and/or patient-facing roles. – Experience working in a remote setting is highly preferred. |
| Technical Skills | – Strong technical aptitude; comfortable navigating multiple software systems simultaneously. – Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) is a significant advantage. – Ability to handle sensitive and confidential data with the utmost integrity. |
| Core Competencies | – Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. – Superb attention to detail and organizational abilities. – Creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills. |
| Logistics | – Must be based in the United States. – Must have a quiet, private workspace and a reliable internet connection. |

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q1: Is this a W-2 employee position or a 1099 contractor role?
A1: This is a 1099 contractor position. This means you will be responsible for your own taxes and will not receive traditional employee benefits like health insurance through Allara.
Q2: Are the hours and schedule fixed?
A2: Yes, the core schedule is Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, for a total of 30-40 hours per week. This is not a flex-time role; we need consistency to ensure we can support our patients during these key hours.
Q3: I have experience in customer service but not in healthcare. Should I still apply?
A3: Absolutely! While medical reception or EHR experience is a nice-to-have, it is not a strict requirement. We place a higher value on exceptional communication skills, empathy, problem-solving ability, and a passion for our mission. We will provide training on our specific systems and protocols.
Q4: What does the training process look like?
A4: You will undergo a comprehensive training program to familiarize you with Allara’s services, our technology platforms (including any EHR systems), and our patient communication protocols. This ensures you feel confident and fully prepared to support our patients from day one.
Q5: What kind of software or tools will I be using?
A5: You will be using a variety of tools typical in a modern, remote healthcare setting. This will likely include a CRM platform, communication tools (like email and a messaging app), scheduling software, and an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Specific training will be provided.
Q6: Why is a private workspace mandatory?
A6: As you will be handling Protected Health Information (PHI) under HIPAA regulations, a private and secure workspace is a legal and ethical requirement to ensure complete patient confidentiality during all phone calls and computer work.
